Whitelisting an email ensures that messages from specific senders are not marked as spam and are delivered directly to your inbox. The process can vary depending on the email service you use. Here’s how to whitelist an email in some of the most popular email services:
A. *Gmail*
– *Desktop:*
1. Open an email from the sender you want to whitelist.
2. Click the three vertical dots (More) next to the reply button.
3. Select “Filter messages like this.”
4. A filter window will appear. Ensure the sender’s email address is correct, then click “Create filter.”
5. Check “Never send it to Spam” and then click “Create filter.”
– *Mobile App:*
Gmail’s mobile app doesn’t have a direct whitelist option. However, you can mark the sender’s email as “Not Spam” if it ends up in your Spam folder. This will help Gmail learn that you want to receive emails from this sender.
B. *Outlook (Web and Desktop)*
– *Web (Outlook.com, Office 365):*
1. Click on the gear icon (Settings) and then select “View all Outlook settings” at the bottom.
2. Go to “Mail” > “Junk email.”
3. Under “Safe senders and domains,” click “Add,” then enter the email address or domain you want to whitelist.
4. Click “Save.”
– *Desktop (Outlook app):*
1. Right-click on an email from the sender you want to whitelist.
2. Hover over “Junk” in the context menu, then click “Never Block Sender.”
C. *Apple Mail (iCloud)*
– *iCloud.com:*
1. Open an email from the sender you want to whitelist.
2. Click on the sender’s email address in the “From” field.
3. Select “Add to Contacts.”
4. iCloud automatically considers emails from your contacts as safe.
– *iPhone/iPad (iOS Mail):*
1. Open the Mail app and find an email from the sender.
2. Tap on the sender’s name or email address at the top.
3. Tap “Create New Contact” or “Add to Existing Contact.”
Once an email is whitelisted, it helps ensure that future emails from the UBL will go straight to your inbox and not be filtered as spam.
